Common questions
What is Linkonda?
Linkonda is a privacy-friendly URL shortener: you paste a long URL and get a short link you can share anywhere. It also generates a downloadable QR code directly in your browser — no server upload required.
Is Linkonda free to use?
Yes. The free plan lets you have 100 links live at once — permanently, with 1 custom domain, a dashboard, and browser-generated QR codes. No monthly cap, no credit card. Delete old links to free up space instantly. The Plus plan (€4.99/mo) raises the simultaneous limit to 500, adds 3 API keys and 3 custom domains. Pro (€14.99/mo) is unlimited.
Is the link limit per month or total?
Neither — it is a simultaneous cap. Linkonda counts how many links you have live at the same moment, not how many you have created this month. If you have 100 links on the free plan and delete 10 old ones, you immediately have room for 10 new ones. There is no monthly reset, no waiting, no rollover. The limit resets the instant you delete a link.
Does Linkonda track the people who click my links?
No. Linkonda records an aggregate click count per link — the total number of redirects — but does not store IP addresses, device types, referrers, geolocation, or any other per-visitor data. Your link visitors are not profiled.
How long do short links last?
Anonymous links (no account) last 30 days. Free account links never expire — they remain active until you delete them. Plus plan links also never expire. Pro and Enterprise links never expire. Only anonymous links have a time limit.
Where are QR codes generated?
QR codes are generated locally in your browser from your short URL using standard JavaScript. The QR image is never uploaded to Linkonda servers, so your destination URL stays private until the link is actually visited.
Can I use Linkonda without creating an account?
Yes. You can shorten up to 10 links without registering — they expire after 30 days and are not saved to a dashboard. Creating a free account gives you 100 active permanent links, 1 custom domain, and a searchable link history. No credit card required.
Does Linkonda support custom domains?
Yes. All signed-in plans include custom domains — even the free plan. Free accounts get 1 custom hostname, Plus gets 3, Pro gets 5, and Enterprise gets 25. After DNS TXT verification, your short links serve from your own domain (e.g. go.yourbrand.com) instead of Linkonda's.
Can I create short links through an API?
Yes. Paid plans include API keys for Bearer-token authentication. You can create, list, update, pause, and delete short links programmatically using the same endpoints the web app calls. See the developer overview for full documentation.
Can I run A/B tests with short links?
Yes. Paid plans can split traffic across multiple destination URLs with configurable percentage weights. Sticky sessions keep the same visitor on the same variant. You see aggregate click counts per variant — no per-visitor tracking.
Is Linkonda GDPR compliant?
Linkonda is designed to minimise data collection. Because no personal data about link visitors is stored, the GDPR obligations that typically apply to per-click analytics (legal basis, consent banners, data subject requests) are largely avoided. See the privacy policy for the complete data handling description.
